The state of Virginia used to be a pretty calm and somewhat quiet place to live but it seems like that’s all changing. I don’t know if you have heard the latest about the person or persons involved in firing shots along a rural stretch of Interstate 64. The highway gunfire began early Thursday on Interstate 64 on a 20-mile stretch between Charlottesville and Waynesboro. Two people were injured but their injuries were not life threatening. That’s not all that far from me, it almost makes you scared to even leave the house. You can Click here for the full story. I’m sure there will be more updates to come on this story. This really has alot of people in the area scared because it brings back the horrible memories of the deadly Beltway snipers six years ago where many people were killed. Also, the shooting rampage that happened at Virginia Tech is still very fresh in our minds. I’m afraid Virginia is really getting a bad reputation for violence because it seems like we are always on the news for some terrible tragedy.

In my last post I said there was another reason why I have been away for awhile other than my illness. I just recently had to put my beautiful 14 year old Himalayan cat to sleep because he was really in bad shape due to what we believe is kidney failure, which is what many cats die from when they get to that age. His name was Baby Boy and I will be posting some photos of him at a later time for all of you to see.
Baby Boy had been experiencing symptoms of kidney failure for awhile now so I knew it was only a matter of time. I had been spending most of my time with him and taking care of him because he had become so fragile. He had lost so much weight that he was having trouble getting around. I was hoping that he would pass here at home where he is comfortable but after he started bleeding from the mouth I knew I had to do something. So with tears in my eyes I picked his fragile body up and went to the vet. I tried so hard to keep my composure but there was no stopping the tears! The vet was very nice and said that I was doing the right thing for him by putting him to sleep. She said his heart was strong and that he could have lingered this way for awhile but the rest of his little body was shutting down.
After he was put to sleep I brought him back home to be buried in my back yard. This has been extremely hard on me because he has been with me for 14 years and it feels like I have lost a child. That’s what I thought of him, he was my little boy. I know there are a lot of people that think I’m crazy for feeling this way but that’s just the way I feel. I care so deeply for animals, I always have. The grieving process is hard and everyone has to deal with it in their own way. Unfortunately I’ve had to go through this a couple of other times in the past few years with my 2 Rottweilers Chloe & Bud. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about them and miss them dearly!
I know that no other Himalayan will ever replace Baby Boy but I can’t imagine not getting another Himalayan. They are so beautiful and have the sweetest personality! So if anyone has any Himalayan kittens for sale or knows of someone that does please let me know. I live in Virginia but I know there are a lot of breeders that will ship the kittens for an additional fee. Of course I would rather find someone local but I haven’t been having a lot of luck so far. Usually by the time I find out that someone has Himalayan kittens for sale they are already spoken for so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

First off…yes I am still alive!!! I know a lot of you have been wondering what happened to me and if I was ever going to return. I have recovered from being ill but I tell you, it was really a rough one! I want to thank you all for the kind comments and well wishes I have been receiving and I do apologize for the major delay in getting back to everybody as things are still very much slow going on my end. But I do want all of you to know how much I really appreciate it. And especially to my loyal viewers(and you know who you are) thanks a bunch guys!!!
Even though I haven’t been posting lately, I’ve been trying my best to still do my Entrecard drops. I have really been impressed with the quality of people and their blogs that I have found through Entrecard. I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised because honestly I wasn’t really expecting that much from Entrecard.
Also aside from my illness there is another reason for my delay in returning to normal posting at which I will explain in my next post.
