Sick And A Little Depressed
Sorry for my lack of posts here lately. I’ve been sick with this virus or whatever it is that’s been going around. I’ve been extremely weak and had terrible congestion that just won’t break up. I’ve been having a really hard time breathing. And I’ve had this annoying cough that just won’t go away so I’ve been feeling quite awful lately. Plus my immune system isn’t great so it usually takes me twice as long to get over something.
And to make matters worse, my 22 year old Cockatiel died a few weeks ago. So I’ve been really depressed about his passing. His name was TT and he was a grey Cockatiel. His favorite thing was to sing the Andy Griffith theme song. He was a really neat little bird! He would let me know when someone would pull up in the driveway, he was better than any watchdog. It’s not the same here without him…it’s too quiet. I know that it was his time to go but it doesn’t make it any easier. The lifespan for a Cockatiel is between 15-20 years so I guess he did pretty good.
Losing a pet is never easy but it is something every pet owner must go through. If only they had longer lifespans, so we would have more time with them. We end up saying goodbye to our beloved pets way too soon!

So sorry for your lose. I recently lost my 14yr old American Eskimo dog and it is truly like losing a child. Very, hard. My heart goes out to you.

I hope you feel better soon. I think we’ve got the same nasty virus here.
I have a cockatiel, too! They are great birds. I know what you mean about them being better than watchdogs. I’m very sorry to read about your loss.
God bless you. ((hugs))

Sorry to hear about TT’s passing. Losing a pet is indeed like losing a friend. We recently lost our hamster Violet, and had a small and sweet ceremony on the edge of our woods for our devastated 6 yr old.

I’m truly sorry to hear about TT. I have 4 tiels, an African Grey, Moluccan Cockatoo and an Orange Wing Amazon. They are such company! One of the ‘tiels and the Grey whistle Andy Griffin and they also whistle a couple of other tunes I’ve taught them. Of course the Grey also talks.
I hope you get to feeling better soon.!

Roxxy, So sorry to hear about the lose of your bird. I had just seen a documentary on the Animal Planet in regards to exotic birds and I thought that they said they had very long lives well into their 60’s years of age. Which according to the doc. was one problem is they usually outlived their owners. He must of had been very ill. I’m so sorry for you and can only imagine how you must feel without him. I hope you find solace in the memories of him and how you & ‘TT’ got along together.Take care and rest up. I do know there is a place where people give up their parrots and exotic birds maybe you could find another one later when you are ready, and help a bird who has lost “their” owner! God Bless you and take care. JJ

So sorry to hear about your beloved bird and that you are not feeling well. I too had that virus about a week ago and it was miserable! It’s a double whammy for you, but things will get better. Peace
