Yesterday the world was saddened by the death of not one, but two very famous people. Farrah Fawcett died at the age of 62 after a near 3 year battle with cancer. She was a very talented actress. She is probably best know for her role on Charlie’s Angels.

I admire her so much for her courage and her love of life. She fought till the very end. I was very moved by the documentary Farrah’s Story which she filmed with good friend Alana Stewart. It is a very detailed story of her struggle with cancer. I’ve always been a fan of hers but I have even more respect for her after seeing what all she went through and how she handled having this terrible disease.

Michael Jackson died at the age of 50. It is believed that he suffered a heart attack but not all details are known at this time. He was one of the most influential entertainers of all time. His music has touched so many people all around the world. His death was such a shock to many because he was planning a huge comeback tour that had already sold out all over London.

Two very different but special people have been taken and are no longer with us. Life is a gift and we must treat it as such. We are not guaranteed tomorrow so we need to make each day count. My thoughts and prayers are with both of their families. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!

Sorry for my lack of posts here lately. I’ve been sick with this virus or whatever it is that’s been going around. I’ve been extremely weak and had terrible congestion that just won’t break up. I’ve been having a really hard time breathing. And I’ve had this annoying cough that just won’t go away so I’ve been feeling quite awful lately. Plus my immune system isn’t great so it usually takes me twice as long to get over something.

And to make matters worse, my 22 year old Cockatiel died a few weeks ago. So I’ve been really depressed about his passing. His name was TT and he was a grey Cockatiel. His favorite thing was to sing the Andy Griffith theme song. He was a really neat little bird! He would let me know when someone would pull up in the driveway, he was better than any watchdog. It’s not the same here without him…it’s too quiet. I know that it was his time to go but it doesn’t make it any easier. The lifespan for a Cockatiel is between 15-20 years  so I guess he did pretty good.

Losing a pet is never easy but it is something every pet owner must go through. If only they had longer lifespans, so we would have more time with them. We end up saying goodbye to our beloved pets way too soon!
